You have a dream to see your child succeed, and for them to get the best education they possibly can. But the cost of tuition for first-rate private education in Missouri might be holding you back. MOScholars bridges the gap between the cost of education and access through our scholarship program.
MOScholars is a Missouri state program that provides scholarships to help families afford private education, including faith-based schools like Christ Community Lutheran School. It’s funded through donations made by individuals and businesses who receive tax credits in return. Additionally, the state of Missouri has allocated $50 million to the program so more kids can access the education that best meets their needs.
How do I qualify?
To qualify for MOScholars, the student must be a legal Missouri resident who meets one of these four conditions:
- Has a formal IEP/ISP issued within the past 36 months; OR
- Has a household income under 300% of the reduced lunch threshold (for a family of four, $178,433 this year) AND either:
- Going into K or 1st Grade; OR
- Attended public school for a semester the immediate prior year; OR
- Is a sibling of a renewal scholarship student.
Starting October 1, 2025 through April 3, 2026, go to the Missouri District - LCMS to get started!
After pre-qualifying, families will be given access to formally apply with the Missouri State Treasurer's Office through FACTS, where they will be required to upload tax information, proof of residency (like a driver's license or utility bill), and other items needed to prove their student’s eligibility. Here’s some helpful instructions for applying in FACTS, as well as a list of documents that are needed for the application.
