The Christ Community Lutheran School Board of Directors (BOD) is a governing body with members elected or appointed by the five association congregations. Amy Berger joined the CCLS board in 2016. She and her husband, Dan, and their two children are members at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Lilly is in 8th grade at CCLS, and their son, Jackson (CCLS alumni), is a student at Westminster College. Amy graduated from Truman State University with a Master’s Degree in Education. Amy is the Director of Business Operations for ClearPath Senior Holdings, a seniors housing development company.
Brent Beumer has been a member of the CCLS Board of Directors since 2013. Brent, his wife, Ashley, and sons, Henry and George, are members of Concordia Lutheran Church. Brent is a graduate of CCLS and Lutheran High School South and is very pleased that both Henry and George are following in his footsteps. Brent received his B.A. in Economics and English from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. from the University of Missouri. Brent previously practiced Real Estate and Corporate Transactional Law and is currently employed as the Director of Real Estate/Corporate Counsel for Dierbergs Markets, Inc.
Heather Buethe joined the CCLS Board of Directors in 2015. She and her husband, Mark, and their two children, Addy and Ben, are members of Webster Gardens Lutheran Church. Addy is in second grade and Ben is in kindergarten at CCLS. Heather graduated from Truman State University with a degree in finance and marketing and received her law degree at Washington University School of Law. She practiced law in the banking and finance department at HuschBlackwell LLP for seven years and is now employed at U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation as an assistant director of project management in the New Markets Tax Credit production group in downtown St. Louis.
Kelly Climer joined the CCLS Board of Directors in 2016. She and her son, Landon, are members of Glendale Lutheran Church. Landon is in the 4 year Pre-K Early Childhood at the Glendale campus. Kelly graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics in 2002. Kelly has been with ALSAC/ St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for eight years. She started as the Associate Director in the St. Louis field office, and three years ago she transitioned to a Philanthropic Advisor for the Bequest program.
Susan Heisner became a CCLS Board member in 2016. She, her husband, Bernie, and her son, Charlie and his family are members at the Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens. Sue served on the Resurrection Early Learning Center Board at her previous Lutheran church in Ohio for 10 years and was director of that center for 2 1/2 years. Now retired, she worked as a public preschool teaching assistant in Illinois and Ohio, having received her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois in 1988. Sue also has taken Suzuki piano teacher training and taught Suzuki piano lessons.
Justin E. Hugo, M.D is a Family Medicine Physician and practices at Fenton Family Medicine. He is on staff at St. Anthony’s Medical Center where he currently serves as the Chairman of the Family Practice Department. Justin received his B.A. in Biology at Saint Louis University and then continued his education at Saint Louis University where he received his M.D. Justin, his wife Cara, and their two boys, Ryan and Zachary, are members of Webster Gardens Lutheran Church. Ryan is currently in 4th grade while Zach is in the early childhood program. Justin is a graduate of CCLS and has been a member of the CCLS Board of Directors since 2013.
Kerrie Karsten became a member of the CCLS Board of Directors in 2014. She and her husband Joel both graduated from CCLS, and together with their children they are members of Concordia Lutheran Church. Her children, Katelynn and Ben, are currently in 5th and 3rd grade. Kerrie received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2000. She has been the Director of Human Resources at Redbird Carriers since 2015. Prior to this she held roles in Operations Management and Business Development for an IT consulting firm.
Tyson Krauss joined the CCLS Board of Directors in 2016. Tyson and wife Missy have two children, Addy (CCLS class of 2020) and William (CCLS class of 2023). The Krauss family receives God’s good gifts of Word and Sacrament at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Tyson earned his B.S. in Business Administration with a major in accounting from Southeast Missouri State University. Currently Tyson is the cost accounting supervisor at Vi-Jon. Tyson coached William’s CCLS basketball team for two years and Addy’s CCLS basketball team for three years. He also served on the Prince of Peace church council as the treasurer for 5 years.
Kimberly Neff joined the Board of Directors in 2016. Kim works part-time as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Telegraph Road Physical Therapy, and she owns a photography business, K.S.Neff Photography. She has a biology degree from Maryville University, and is a graduate of Lutheran High School South. Kim and her husband, Andy, and her two children, Reis (CCLS Class of 2017) and Emery (CCLS Class of 2020), are members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Aaron Pawlitz has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2012 and serves as its President. Aaron is a partner at the law firm of Spencer Fane where he practices in the area of mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and other transactions. Prior to attending law school, Aaron taught in the Social Sciences Departments of Mehlville High School (1997-98) and Lindbergh High School (1998-99). Aaron is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and of Saint Louis University School of Law. Aaron, his wife, Jennifer, and daughter, Emma (CCLS Class of 2017), are members of Concordia Lutheran Church.
Steven E. Pozaric, J.D is a partner in the law firm of Armstrong Teasdale LLP where he has practiced law since 1998. He is in the corporate services group with a focus in transactional and health law. He received his J.D. from St. Louis University in 1998, an M.B.A from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in 1993 and a B.B.A. from Texas Christian University in 1989. Prior to law school, he worked in corporate finance for a division of Emerson Electric Co., a private developer of power plants, the Bank of England, and for General Dynamics (now Lockheed Martin). Steve (CCLS Class of 1981), his wife Kerry, and daughters Elizabeth (CCLS Class of 2015) and Madelyn (CCLS Class of 2017) are members of Concordia Lutheran Church. Steve has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2013. Steve is also the General Chairman of Fair St. Louis.
